Angels School Store Gearing Up----In Need of Donations

Angels School Store Gearing Up----In Need of Donations

The Charlotte White Center Angels Program is a community based outreach program that seeks to improve the well being of children and adults in our community through projects designed to develop spirit, pride, and personal responsibility.  Every year we sponsor a School Store.  The Store opens for one week each year for children to come in and shop, filling their “back to school needs”.  Although most of our shoppers acutely need this help to be ready for the school year, we choose to emphasize life skills and personal responsibility, rather then need.  Children are given a special “checkbook”, in which they can make deposits through doing good deeds throughout the month prior to the store opening.  When a child visits the school store, they then receive Charlotte White Center cash for the good deeds that they have done.  The child then gets to do their back to school shopping.

Pine Tree Hospice Brings Laughter to Caregivers

Pine Tree Hospice Brings Laughter to Caregivers

We are all caregivers at one time or another.   Being a caregiver is naturally about giving.     But in order to be able to keep giving we need to periodically be replenished.   Pine Tree Hospice’s Caring for the Caregiver series, funded by the Maine Community Foundation, is all about supporting Caregivers (personal or professional) through providing free day long events.    Our next Caregiver Day is scheduled for April 9th from 10am - 2pm and will be held at the Charlotte White Center on Route 15 in Dover-Foxcroft.    All past and present caregivers are encouraged to attend.

In the morning we are thrilled to have Susan Poulin performing “The Full Angel” a series of concise vignettes that chronicle the death of her mother, her family’s struggle and courage, and the healing power of love.   This moving memoir will make you cry, make you smile, and make y
