Veggies for All: Fresh produce for local food pantry

On the third Saturday of every month, from 6:00 to 8:00 am cars line up at the drive-through window of the Volunteer Regional Food Pantry in Unity, Maine.

In that hour and a half, the pantry is able to provide food to about 275 families or nearly 700 people throughout its community. Each family that drives up to the window gets a box full of non perishable food items topped with freshly harvested vegetables. Read more ...

Pine Tree Hospice is pleased to announce its Lunch & Learn Series topics for Fall 2014.  On September 11th, we are focusing on Cooking for One in which ideas and suggestions for cooking for yourself will be shared.  The importance of Staying Active is the topic for our event on October 14th where easy exercises and their benefits are explored.   Getting through the holidays can be a hard time of year, so on November 11th, we will present Coping With Grief Through the Holidays.  Finishing off our fall series on December 9th, the topic will be Grief in the Winter Time.  We invite you to come to any or all events.
